Mere Maula Maula Mere Maula, Man Matwala Kyun Hua Hua Re
Man Maula Maula Mere Maula, Mere Maula..

Kis Taraf Hai Aaasmaan, Kis Taraf Zaameen
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi
Oo Oo, Jab Se Aaya Hai Sanam, Mujhko Khud Ki Bhi
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi

Mere Maula Maula Mere Maula, Man Matwala Kyun Hua Hua Re
Man Maula Maula Mere Maula, Mere Maula..

Got to be LOVE... Got to be LOVE...
Oo got to be LOVE....
Its got to be LOVE...
Got to be Love cos its really got me goin...
Its got me goin....

Jaane Kab Kahan Kaise, Tere Ho Gaye Kaise
Hum To Sochte Hi Reh Gaye, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya
Mere Khawaab Dil Saaansein, Mil Ke Kho Gaye Aise
Tujko Dekh Ke Aisa To, Kai Baar Ho Gaya
Tu Kahe Dil Yeh Tera Hi Rahe, Aur Kya Kahun
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi
Oo Oo, Kis Taraf Hai Aaasmaan, Kis Taraf Zaameen
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nah
i

Mere Maula Maula Mere Maula, Man Matwala Kyun Hua Hua Re
Man Maula Maula Mere Maula, Mere Maula

Aayega Woh Is Intezaar Mein
Ud Chala Dil Wahan Sapne Jahan Mein Janu
Lagta Hai Woh Mere Kareeb Hai
Aisa Kyun Hai Magar Dhunde Nazar Beqabu
Hosh Gul Sapno Ki Mein Bandhu Pull, Aankh Kab Khuli....
Khabar Nahi.. Oo Oo

Kis Taraf Hai Aaasmaan, Kis Taraf Zaameen
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi
Oo Oo, Jab Se Aaya Hai Sanam, Mujhko Khud Ki Bhi
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi
Oo Oo, Hosh Gul Sapno Ki Mein Bandhu Pull, Aankh Kab Khuli
Khabar Nahi, Khabar Nahi
Oo Oo, Kis Taraf Hai Aaasmaan, Kis Taraf Zaameen

I jus love this song from Dostana... Got amazing lyrics.. So thought will share it with you guys... Its in
Hindi, so folks who cant understand it, u can always buzz me 4 the translation :)

I always remember how my mom used to say “You start cooking you’ll realize the hardship in it” whenever I grumbled about the food she made… Yesterday I tried my hands on something touted as the 1 of the most difficult tasks… Yes… It’s making chappathis … Luckily my mom saved me the pain of kneading the dough...

I was busy watching Friends on my computer when she barged into the room saying, “Ramya, go make the chappathis”… I was like what… She says “I always do them; it’s high time you learn… What will you do when you get married? ”…. Why do they always have to pull me getting married in this…? I don’t understand… I shall manage after I get married… I hope I find a guy who helps me in cooking :( I really don’t want somebody who keeps bossing around giving instructions as to what he wants to eat and how I should cook… I shall definitely tell him “Ok, the kitchen is all yours, cook whatever you want and eat”… :) Obviously I’m not gonna take orders from some weirdo…

Ok now coming back to reality, I figured out that my mom needed the comp to play games and hence the entire ‘chappathi making hungama’… God save me!!!! I go to the kitchen to find a ball of kneaded dough… I found the chappathi making stone and the rolling pin (belan) and washed it and let it dry… Meanwhile I broke the ball to as many small balls of dough as possible… And hence started the process of making chappathis…

I tell you, it’s not that difficult as our mothers claim it to be… Ya, initially you might have some trouble with getting the perfect round shape… I began with maps of Australia and Africa… In the process I even got an irregular heart shaped chappathi… Finally by the time I was making my fifth chappathi, the round began to appear :) Voila! And I finally mastered the art of making chappathi… But by the end of it I was all tired and sweaty… And I still had to roast them on the tava… Oh no… I jus cant do so much work in a day… :O By then my mom had come for supervision and the argument began as to who makes the better chappathis… Since dinner time was nearing she offered to roast them or I would rather say she had no choice but to do it cos I told her I was gonna shower, as all tat cooking drove me mad…

Dinner was good… With the yummy chappathis that I made and the awesome mutton curry that my mom made :) I’m very sure the chappathis made the curry taste better (my mom jus doesn’t agree to this)…

P.S. I have decided that in future I will cook in a kitchen that either has a fan or an centralized AC… Or else I’m gonna boycott cooking… What say ???

The idea of this topic struck me when I was watching an episode of FRIENDS… It was a good episode and at the right moment came the break for ads… I was really waiting for the ads to get over and for them to continue the serial… The break was for full 5mins :O I still don’t believe it… Then I wondered are ads that important and I realized they are… Really…

We have ads for almost anything and everything, for all our needs and for all the goods and commodities available in the market… Tel me 1 thing that doesn’t have an ad for itself… Be it small or huge everything has an ad for it… It helps the guys to sell their products more; models make money by acting in it, the television producers mint money by telecasting those ads at the turning point of serials pissing us off… The more recent movie (on tv) it is, the more money the guys get for the ads being telecasted during breaks…Worse it is when there are live shows and matches being telecasted… They don’t spare ads even then… Between every over there’s a need for a ad… At times they don’t even complete the ad and they switch to the match back… Was it even necessary for them to telecast it then? Money is an important factor and I see the way world is running after it… The people in the advertisement field earn more than 2 or 3 software engineers combined, I’m sure… At least they get to do what they want and love… Unlike many of us who are caught in the software world… I’ve always wondered what it would be like to be the Ad field… Definitely behind the screens, would love to be part of the creative team – the one’s that come up with the whacky and cute ad concepts based on the products…

Talking about creativity I was just making a list of some of my favorite commercials… I like each one of them for varied reasons… Here I go:

  1. I think the 1st ever ad I went crazy over was the Cadbury’s Diary Milk ad, where a gal comes dancing to hug her cricketer boyfriend after he hits a boundary… That was a lovely ad… Another ad for the same product would be a gal who has mehendi on her hand and struggles with her elbows and teeth (she doesn’t wanna mess up her mehendi and hence the usage of her teeth) to unwrap a bar of Diary Milk… She finally succeeds and as she jumps in joy of having the chocolate she unknowingly messes up the mehendi :)
  2. The next one on the list is the Milk Corporation ad… Its an ad asking people to drink milk as its good for health… I loved the ad for the way it was shot and also the song… It went something like this – Dhood, dhood, dhood, wonderful dhood, pee sakthey ho ek glassful…
  3. After hutch became Vodafone after a few bad ads they bought back the hutch dog… It was such a cute lil pug (Guess that’s what he’s called)… There were a series of ads involving the pug and a cute lil gal… There was this full ad where the dog helps the gal find her socks for school, then comes running with a fishing net when she’s trying to catch fishes with her hands, helps her stick stamps by licking them (cho cute), runs behind her school bus with her tie when she has forgotten it… It was a lovely ad… There was also this ad of Vodafone musical greetings where a gal sings Pehla Nasha to her guy along with her friends… The gals and guy all looked cute…
  4. Talking of mobile phones I get reminded of Virgin mobile ad where the gal tells her parents she isn’t interested in guys which at the end we realize is a lie to get perm frm her parents to go on a tour to Goa… Good thinking I would say…
  5. Coming to some of the recent ads, I love the Limca ad where the guy and gal dressed in good business suits drink Limca when they are bored and play with water… It’s shot well and the song also is too good…These days they play it as a song on the music channels – V & Mtv
  6. Kids always make any ad beautiful and cute… There are two ads from some insurance, New York Max Life Insurance I guess… There’s this kid who’s learning to talk and says banana, daddy, mummy and also succeeds to say Czechoslovakia in the end… The kid is chubby and the way she says those words only make you wanna see the ad again and again… The other 1 is where a lil kid collects teeth and buries them up for her brother to get a race bike… Her bro would have told her that burying a tooth would turn it into a golden tooth and hence she goes on a tooth collecting spree… Every bro would want a sis like her… How adorable….
  7. The Bru ad where the husband massages wife’s foot, LG refrigerator where the husband cooks dinner for his wife and waits for are too good to be true… Do guys really do all that… Life would be so much better if such things ever happened…Hmmm...

They are many more ads that I love, but guess that would take me ages to wrap this post up… I initially hated ads but I really like them because they make you feel good at times and ya u certainly need a break from your continuous movie and serial watching… What say ??

I’m another year older :( But blah… It really doesn’t matter :) Really… Cos I still look the same, haven’t done anything great in the past 1yr, and am still the same old Technology Consultant with HP… So… It really doesn’t matter :)

Friday (April 17th 09)

It was a very quick day… Started with me getting up late after all those late night calls from people wishing me at midnight… Since my phone was constantly busy, after a point of time people stopped calling :( and I had to return the missed calls to get my wishes… I know!!! I had to literally drag myself out of my bed at 7.30 in the morning… Then had a good shower… Took some time ironing my new dress… Made a quick visit to the temple… Got back, had a good breakfast and zoomed to office… Man it was sooooo hot… I was cursing everybody on the road and also the scorching sun…

Once in office I decided it was gonna be like any other day… As the day progressed slowly there were people coming to my desk, taking sweets, wishing me… A couple of my school mates called and wished… Feels nice to know that they still remember…. Had a couple of sessions after lunch… I was so embarrassed walking up and down in my new dress as the beads on it kept clinking and people kept turning to see who was making the noise :( Soon it was evening and by the time Bhu and Priya came to my seat I ran out of sweets :( :( Went with them to café, treated Bhu with a watermelon juice and got chocolates…By 6, Logu called me for dance practice… Told him wont stay for long… The moment I entered the whole gang was there including a few new members too… I wasn’t expecting them… And then I see hidden behind the pillar were Subi, Jannu and Uday and also a huge chocolate cake… I couldn’t stop smiling… It was cake cutting, then a mini photo shoot and a lil bit of dance practice… It was a great day…

Thanks to all those who wished me, Arun, Bhu, Girish, Arvind for the gifts… Logu for the wishes in ERGO and the dance club cake cutting…

Wait wait… I’m not done yet :) the best it yet to come... I got back home and people were still calling to wish me… Was having a terrible headache and eyes were burning like crazy… Guess it’s the heat taking its toll on me… So crashed early…

Saturday (April 18th 09)

I woke up early and felt groggy… Apparently I slept like a log and hence the feeling… I was reading paper and thinking about what to buy today as I had made plans with Jannu to roam in Pondy Bazaar and Landmark… Was planning to check out good books to buy in Landmark… I was very sure Jannu would wake up by 10 or 11 and I can aaram se have lunch and go… Suddenly I get a call from her @ 8.45… She said we’ll meet up at Isphani by 11.30 as she wanted to go to Landmark… I tried telling her we’ll meet up after lunch but in vain… She sounded desperate to be there by 11.30… I thought maybe she had loads to do there and jus shrugged ok… Mom needed sometime to make lunch so called her and said that I’ll be late by half an hour… She dint have any issues… I have never seen Jannu being so time conscious so was very surprised thinking why she badly wanted to meet up so early that too on this hot day… Whatever I got dressed in a simple polka dotted green shirt and spaghetti (never thought I will regret this choice of dress later) as I was jus gonna roam around Pondy…

When I got down at Isphani she called me inside as she wanted to get a drink… I went along answering a call from my dad and entered Marrybrown… And my-o-my there is this huge gang there… I was surprised and shocked… It was a SURPRISE party… Man… I wanted to pinch myself… Subi, Girish, Balaji, Arun, Logu, Arvind and Vijay were there… I was so so surprised… I have no words to describe it… Then there was this completely out of the world cake that I had to cut… It was yummy and amazingly soft… I gave everybody a piece… Then we ordered food… Then came the next surprise… It was big bag full of goodies… Things that I have always loved… There was this amazing scrapbook made by Jannu… It was so beautiful… It had my pictures, messages and wishes from all my close friends… I was shocked to see messages from a lot of really close people… It was cho chweet of Jannu to take so much effort to do such a thing…. I Love you Jannu… The other gifts were a painting kit containing – a drawing board, a beginner’s guide to water colors, a box of poster colors and a set of 7 paint brushes… Then there was this set containing two coloring dolls and a puppy from Littlest Pet Shop… They were all cute stuff I’ve always loved… After eating we guys planned for a movie and went till Sangam but ill luck no ticks were available… We all headed back home after that…

This is 1 memorable event in my life I’m always gonna treasure…Thanks to all those who made it happen… Love u guys…

Dancers Day Out !!!

Posted by Ramya

Today was a day of utmost fun... I wasnt expecting the plan to be a such a hit... I was very happy after a long time... Logu was planning a day out with the entire dance club... But 1 by 1 everybody dropped out due to some or the other commitement... So jus Logu, Arun and I remained... We decided to go along with the plan... And as Jannu was also interested, the plan was finalised... Lemme recount the day now...

The day started with me waking up by 6.45... Don't know why I got up so early... But guess the previous day's early travel and mini naps took its toll... I kinda had a disturbed sleep and hence woke up early.. Dint know what to do... Surprisingly my dad was done with the newspapers and so I got them for myself and the next hour whiled away... I then showered and had breakfast... By 9.50 I was dressed in my Butterfly tops and a pair of blue jeans... I drove to office and met up with Logu @ the bike park... Jannu and Arun were already there... After a few minutes we started off in Arun's car...

We headed towards Mayajaal, our destination for the day... We reached there by 11.45... We strolled around for a few mins, looking at the people there, the shops, the big screen which was screening songs outta Jaya Max music channel (They dint have a better channel... blah !) We then went up to the Bowling arena... I was gonna do this after almost a year and a half later... I had a brief stint with Bowling during a team outing in Blore... And lemme tell you... I was absolutely bad... None of the balls ever reached the pins... Everything went on the side track... So i was initially a lil skeptical about the whole bowling thing... But there was Logu who called himself a pro in it and was giving tips to all of us... We had to wait a while before we could get an alley for ourself... So thanks to Arun and his digi cam, we happily started posing and clicking pics....

We got our bowling alley and we were all set to jump in... Logu was 1st, me next, then Arun and finally Jannu... Each of us got 10 chances of 2 shots each... We had a blast i tell ya... It was absolute fun... Much to my surprise i was pretty good at it... Thanks to Logu's tips and tricks ;) I missed jus 3 shots at the max... Everything else hit my pins... And a couple of my shots even cleared all the pins....Yoooouhooooooooo.... I was jumping with joy... All of us were really good... I scored something around 80 points... And Arun emerged as the winner in the end with the max pts... We saw lotsa ppl in the bowling area... I bet most of them were school kids... Enjoying their vacation... I jus thought to myself what i did during my vacations ?? Sat @ home, read a novel, visited my relatives or attended typewriting classes... And i see the gen-next kids.... Whoaaa.... So much change... Even though Mayajaal existed since my college days... Tis was my 2nd visit to it... And when i saw these kids jus bowl out all the pins in a single shot, i realised they were pros in it... Looks like tis is the only thing they do during their hols... We also saw a bunch of gals... They looked like school kids too... But their dressing sense told me something else... I mean how are they comfy wearing such skimpy clothes in public... I dint find an answer so decided not to bother much... Seeing those gals, our boys (Arun and Logu) lost their concentration in a coupla games... he he... Guys are guys...

We then headed to food court for a quick lunch cos we had the movie @ 2... So all of us had a good hot lunch which we finished with an icecream... We were few mins late for the movie - Anandha Thandavam... I initially regretted being late... But trust me, by interval i felt it wud been better if i missed half the movie... It was a crap movie and an absolute time and money waste... I wanted to see the movie jus for 2 reasons - Sujatha's script and good music... But i really regretted watching it... The only good thing about the movie was the scenic locations shown throughout... I mean it was all beautiful and picturesque... The second half was better compared to the first... And i liked Rukmini... She was far better than the dumb Tamanna... Whatever... It was fun with all the comments we were passing... After the movie, we came out, took a few pics and started to the beach...

After a few wrong turns, we finally headed to a beach which was located in GRP Avenue and guess the road was called Seashell... I should remember this cos i would prefer goin there again... We had a photoshoot @ the beach... With us posing, shooting in different angles... It was a riot... We had fun... There was this foreign couple who had come with their kids and a labrador pup... The pup was chooooo cuteeeeeeee.... It felt so soft too... I jus dint have the heart to let it go... After spending sometime in the beach, we finally started around 6.30 from there... Reached office by 7... And i got back home by 8...

It was a long and tiring day... But was absolute fun... One of the 'Best' days in my life... Thanks to Logu and Arun for all the logistics...

I really dono what to call these guys… None of the bad words used would be appropriate… Man what to these people think of themselves?? A gal can’t drive peacefully on the road… They have to look at you, comment something or come really close to you and honk really loud scaring the poor gal… If only looks could kill half the guys in Chennai city would be dead by now…

It’s really irritating when in traffic signals, they come close to you, stand and hum some film number… Or go ahead of you; look at you in the rear view mirror… Morons they don’t use it so see if there are vehicles coming behind them but for all this they adjust the mirrors a zillion times… Sometimes they just don’t get enough of it all… They go ahead of you, turn back and look at you until you give them a rude look… Worse is when they tell something to the guy in the pillion seat and he also turns back to see you to his heart’s fill… Atrocious I tell ya…

Who gives such guys bikes to drive and the license I dono… Whether you look good/bad, dressed in western/Indian, drive a cycle/scooty/bike they just wanna stare at you… God… Save us from such creatures on earth… They don’t let you overtake them; neither do they overtake you… They just wanna keep driving along with you... Do I look like somebody who asked for a romantic drive in those busy roads… God knows when 1 might get crushed under a lorry… And all they know is to zoom around us, show their cheap driving stunts like driving with their hands free, wheeling etc… To hell with guys driving Karizmas, Pulsars and all those high fundo bikes… Seriously…

I don’t know what gals are supposed to do, to get away from such guys… At times I wanna show my middle finger at them or ask them f*** off… But if your gonna say something harsh it only turns them more violent and god knows what more they might do… The best thing to do would be to just ignore those useless idiots… And to pray that some day we will have a pleasant drive on the roads…

After a gap of almost 2.5yrs I happened to listen to the show last night … I was almost crazy over the show during college days… Dint miss it even for a single night … There were 2 obvious reasons for it…

  1. The host was RJ Shiva :)
  2. They had an amazing collection of Romantic songs…

The RJ was a Mallu and his tamil was very funny and cute to hear… He made lotsa mistakes while talking but I don’t think anybody took any notice of it… At least not the gals for sure :) I still remember how he just kept getting calls over calls… And he called himself the ‘Love Doctor’, I wonder why? Just cos jobless people call him with their issues of Love? He doesn’t even give them a logical solution to their problems… I remember there was a caller, it was in fact a lady… She called the RJ so tell him that her lover doesn’t trust her enough… She was telling him that they were going on for a year now and still he hasn’t developed the trust over her… The RJ asked her what exactly was the issue and imagine the surprise I had when she explained it… She told the RJ that her lover was jealous that she was spending more time with her husband than him… The RJ went blank... He dint know what to do for a few minutes… I bet anybody who was listening that night would have had a hearty laugh… The RJ just told her she shouldn’t be doing such a thing, cheating on her husband and immediately hung up… I always felt being an RJ or a VJ was easy… But that day I realized its not… They talk nonstop, entertain us and handle such cranky callers too :) Way to go guys!!!

I guess RJ Shiva no longer hosts the show… The last night it was some female… Must be new… And my luck it was the Single’s night yesterday… Blah… Apparently every Tuesday is dedicated for the poor/sad Singles… Tats what she said… :O The call frequency is really less these days… I realized that last night … But their song collection still rocks… They play really good romantic songs… Be it old/new… They are the best… There was this caller online who claimed to be really happy to be single… He was a BPO employee… The RJ was surprised as to how he can be happy being single... Was it such a big issue? I mean I know a coupla guys who are… And who just wanna shooo away marriage for as long as possible… The RJ was vowing to make the guy feel bad for being single by the end of the show… Too bad I couldn’t be awake to hear what exactly happened as I fell asleep… It’s always a nice thing to do… Fall asleep listening to melodies… Had a peaceful sleep last nite… Guess I shall get back to the habit of listening to it daily from tonight…

What Am I To You?

Posted by Ramya in

Am I a good friend? A close friend? Or just an acquaintance?

Tell me an answer so that I go a step further in life…

You see me u smile,

When I see you to smile you just blink,

You wanna talk, u buzz me…

You go on and on…

At times you share your deepest secrets,

The rest of the time you don’t even acknowledge my presence…

I dream of you with my eyes open,

Though I’ve known you only for quite sometime now,

I feel I’ve always known you…

There’s silence all around me,

All I want to hear is you calling me out…

There’s some invisible bond between us, which I can feel…

But I don’t really know if you are even aware of such a thing.

It hurts to know you don’t,

But I also know it isn’t your fault,

Tel me what I should be doing…

Are you the One? I really don’t know…

But something tells me you are...

Just tell me what I’m to you so that I get an answer for all my questions…

An answer that can bring a smile to my heart forever….

Family Sunday…

Posted by Ramya

Though the day started early and on a boring note, it went on well… It was the usual Sunday with the usual cleaning that my dad started even before I could wake up… Sigh… Finally opened the .Net book that I brought home from the office library… Read a few pages… I think the last time I did some serious studying was when I moved to Chennai from Bangalore… Prepared for the interviews for the new proj… Grandma(Dad’s mom) invited us for lunch today as it was grandpa’s anniversary… So it was gonna be a get-together with my cousins… I was looking forward to this… Guess the last time my dad and siblings met up was during Diwali… Hmm not sure about that… Anyway I wore my new Megamart sleeveless kurta and jeans… As usual I got those what-the-heck-are-you-wearing looks from my dad… But blah who cares… I’m gonna wear what I like… Reached there late courtesy my sister and mom who just have a penchant for being the last ones to leave the house… Reached grandma’s and guess what greets me there… The most amazing scene from Vaaranam Aayiram… The train sequence…. I just loveeeee that scene… Had to pause it to finish the pooja… Then as the men of the house sat down for lunch ‘we‘the kids started the movie… I waited till the song Nenjukul came, saw it in full volume despite the protests from the women of the houseJ It was absolute fun… Then had an amazing lunch… Was too full for payasam so asked grandma to pack payasam home… I’m not the family kinda person still this get-together was fun… With everybody making fun of each other… The men of the house ogling at Sameera Reddy and the ladies making fun of them… I was fighting with my lil bro for the remote… 3hours just flew away… After my dad and uncle had a small nap we started back home…I got back and had a good 2hr nap… Wanted to go 2 Ayyappan temple but felt very lazy and it was 6, the aarthi time so thought will postpone the temple visit to next Sunday… Evening was a lil dragging… Saw tv, read Godfather, ironed my dress for tomorrow… The .Net book was lying on my chair but I still dint feel like getting back to it… And now here I’m @ 10.46 blogging… Was msgin Jannu asking if I should or shouldn’t call ‘The Bird’… But she’s dead against it and doesn’t want me to do it… She has perfect reasons but my stupid heart jus doesn’t wanna listen to it… Anyway Mr. Bird will cya tomo in office and then I shall think what I should do about it…

I've been evading this for quite sometime now... As I'm absolutely bored with reading .Net online i finally decided to do something constructive... Created a blog to let out all my thoughts...Not sure if am gonna be constant and post daily...But lets hope for the best !!!
